Environmentally Friendly Classroom

On Sept. 30, 2011, Denny Quinn’s third grade class showed their stewardship by watering 12 small trees around Chartiers Valley Intermediate School. The trees had been planted four years ago by Quinn’s class as part of the United Nation’s Billion Tree Campaign.

At Chartiers Valley Intermediate School on Sept. 30, 2011, Denny Quinn’s third grade class spent time learning outdoors about the trees they were watering around the school and the function of trees in the environment. Caring for the maple and pear trees has been a tradition since 2007, when Quinn’s class planted the trees for the United Nation’s Billion Tree Campaign.

Denny Quinn turned Chartiers Valley Intermediate School’s campus into an outdoor classroom on Sept. 30, 2011 to teach his students about the role that trees play in the environment. Quinn’s third grade classes have been learning about and taking care of the young trees around the school since they were first planted for the United Nation’s Billion Tree Campaign back in 2007.
